MySoCal Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is posted to demonstrate our commitment to protecting your personal information and to describe ways how we handle it. This privacy policy only applies to transactions and activities in which you engage, and data gathered, on the websites of the MySoCal.com family (collectively "MySoCal.). It does not apply to any other website or offline point of contact between MySoCal, or any other company, and consumers. Please review this privacy policy periodically as we may modify it from time to time. This privacy policy was last revised on September 19, 2007. Each time you visit MySoCal or provide us with information, by doing so you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy at that time.

 

 

Personal Information.  Minimum personal information required to obtain basic MySoCal membership is personal email address.  MySoCal collects additional personal information, such as your name, mailing address, telephone number when you provide it to us during communications.  If you choose to participate in revenue sharing program we will also request additional personal information, such as name, mailing address, telephone number, tax id and other financial information. 

 

How your personal information will be used. We use your email address for Operational Communications, such as confirmation emails, event announcements or other important news that could affect your relationship with MySoCal, as well as to send you newsletters, information, offers and other promotional materials for MySoCal.

To operate MySoCal, we may share your personal information with our agents, representatives, contractors and service providers so they can provide us with support services. We require these entities not to use your information for any other purpose then the service in question.

 

Special Cases in which we Share Personal Information. Your personal information may be passed on to a third party in the event of a transfer of ownership or assets, or a bankruptcy. We may also disclose personal information when we determine that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, to cooperate with law enforcement or to protect the interests or safety of MySoCal or other members and visitors to the Site.

 

Non-Personal Information. We also collect non-personal information from you.  Each time you visit the MySoCal we automatically collect your IP address, the URL of the web page from which you came and your browser type. In order to administer and optimize MySoCal for you we use your IP address to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information about you.

 

Cookies. MySoCal uses cookies to keep track of your activity on the site and to enhance your experience with MySoCal. We also use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests and to save your user id and password, so that if you choose so you do not have to re-enter them each time you visit MySoCal. Third party advertisers on the Site may also place or read cookies on your browser. If you wish to disable these cookies, the "help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how. However, if you set your browser to disable cookies, you may not be able to access certain areas on MySoCal.

 

Our Security Precautions.  MySoCal has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information collected through the Site. However, MySoCal cannot guarantee that your personal information will not be obtained illegally from MySoCal systems and you agree to assume all risk and liability arising from your use of MySoCal online services, including the risk of a breach in the security of our systems. MySoCal cannot guarantee and has no control over the public or third party network through which you send your personal information to MySoCal Site.

 

How You Can Access and Update Your Personal Information. You can obtain a copy of and request that we correct errors in your Personal Information by emailing us at privacy@mysocal.com. For your protection, you will be required to provide proof of your identity to obtain a copy of your Personal Information.
